We're looking for a friendly face to represent our store here at Tobacco and Vapor 2 (21 only). The job entails greeting, taking care of customers, knowing/learning about the vape/smoke shop market and being passionate about the products we sell, being able to educate our customers in the products we sell, as well as general stocking, writing down what's missing and product requests.
Duties:
- Greet and assist customers in a friendly and professional manner
- Provide deep product knowledge and information to customers
- Assist customers with product selection and offer recommendations
- Give instructions and/or set up various gadgets/devices
- Process sales transactions accurately
- Maintain a clean and organized sales floor, restocking shelves, arranging displays
- Answer phone calls and respond to customer questions with good phone etiquette
- Assist with inventory management, including receiving and stocking merchandise
- Collaborate with team members and additionally assume self-responsibility
- Willingness to pick up shifts at other nearby stores when they're short handed
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous retail sales experience preferred
- Communication and interpersonal skills
- Time management skills to prioritize tasks effectively
- Basic math skills for cash handling and inventory management (especially important during technological difficulties!)
- Proficiency in English
- Knowledge of technology products, ability to self educate
(major PLUS) - Already knowing a good amount about smokeshop/vape product
We're a casual spot and only ask you to be yourself, if you are the type of personality that fits this job. Those who are organizational minded (closer to "type A personality") are preferred, due to the plethora of product; a good working memory and the ability to self-educate and communicate is key.
The skill to deal with different types of people is also important, at least the willingness to learn, and be patient with other humans.
We want to be very honest about the experience, as it is stereotyped as being rather easy, but not every person is geared for this line of work.
