As a Battery Lab Technician, your responsibilities include operating and maintaining equipment related to a pilot pouch cell manufacturing line. This technician will work closely with cell engineers to produce pouch cells for electrochemical testing from mixing and coating, to cell assembly. They will be supporting the ECT team to construct cells in a timely manner and will coordinate with the engineers on prioritizing specific builds.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:

-1 years working in a chemistry lab, or cell manufacture production floor, or research environment.-Able to understand and execute operation from an SOP for high-precision instrument.-Able to do adequate note keeping during operations for process improvements.-Able to clearly communicate any deviations and anomaly with the process to engineers.-Strong time management skills to prioritize key tasks.-Strong ability to be organized and keep work station clean.-Able to work in a clean/dry room environment.-Able to be standing while operating equipment for ~2 hours at a time; able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.-Willing to wear a respirator when handling powders; and wear appropriate PPE (gloves, lab coat, full body suit when necessary).

OTHER QUALITIES WE’D LOVE FOR YOU TO HAVE:

- Prior experience in pouch cell related work would be a plus.- General understanding of lithium-ion battery fundamentals.- Experience in mixing and coating and general battery assembly equipment.- Work experience at a battery manufacturer or battery research lab.- Experience with servicing complex equipment on a regular basis.- Experience troubleshooting when mechanical or electrical issues arise on equipment.- Cooperative team-player with the curiosity to learn new things and grow professionally.

The base pay range for this role is $22/hr to $35/hr. All positions come with a company bonus and stock options. The actual base pay offered depends on a variety of factors, which may include, the applicant’s qualifications for the position; years of relevant experience; specific and unique skills; level of education attained; certifications or other professional licenses held; other legitimate, non-discriminatory business factors specific to the position; and the geographic location in which the position is located.
