Group 14 Engineering is Hiring a Building Enclosure Team – Performance Field Technician Near Denver, CO

Group14 is seeking a Building Enclosure Performance Field Technician with a wide breadth of technical knowledge to support our Building Enclosure team and Multifamily Housing team.

Your Expertise

  • 3 – 6 years of experience with commercial or residential new construction, preferably with experience in blower door testing (whole building or unit/home level), duct leakage testing, air and thermal barrier inspections, IECC performance verification through site observation and drawing review, water testing of building enclosure systems (ie: ASTM E1105 and AAMA 501.2), and Thermographic Inspection (Infrared imaging)) of building enclosure systems
  • Ability to travel outside the Denver metro area up to 80% of the time, with overnight travel to conduct work up to 10% of the time
  • Competency with Microsoft Office and Google Suite products
  • Must have reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license
  • Strong practical background with commercial and residential building construction techniques
  • Able to effectively prioritize multiple tasks with excellent organization and time management skills
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing
  • Ability to navigate building codes, particularly the IECC
  • Familiarity with amendments to codes by nearby jurisdictions, such as Boulder and Fort Collins
  • Experience with Building Enclosure Commissioning (BECx), especially LEED enhanced commissioning requirements

How You Will Contribute

  • Conduct in-field inspections and testing, including: air and weather barrier, air-sealing, envelope leakage and duct leakage testing, window water intrusion testing, infrared scanning, and other rough and final stage building performance testing and verification on commercial and multifamily residential buildings
  • Conduct field observations and prepare field reports on the status of construction and recommended corrections
  • Collaborate and work with clients, design team, contractors, and their representatives
  • Perform submittal reviews and design reviews of architectural and MEP drawing sets
  • Support testing and verification efforts for IECC and LEED compliance
