• Carries a client caseload as assigned. Responsible for determining the client's strengths/weaknesses and needs to assist clients in developing a treatment plan within 7 days of admission.
• Monitors and documents assigned client's progress toward the treatment plan.
• Provides alcohol and drug education in counseling sessions.
• Must keep client records up-to-date.
• Responsible for assuring that assigned clients are given random urinalysis according to
• State and Federal guidelines.
• Performs other duties as assigned by the Clinical Supervisor.
• Responsible for client confidentiality as regulated by Federal guidelines.
• Conduct Intake Assessments.
• Attend weekly supervision meetings and any other supervision that is required

• All staff employed as alcohol and drug counselors shall, at a minimum be:
• Licensed or certified as an alcohol and drug counselors by the Board of Professional Counselors and Therapists; Approved by the Board of Professional Counselors and Therapists; or Licensed, certified, or permitted under the Health Occupations Article, Annotated Code of Maryland to provide substance abuse treatment.
