GroundsPRO is Hiring a Landscape Manager Near Cincinnati, OH

Summary

The Landscape Manager is responsible for exceeding customer expectations through effective management of the financial resources and personnel appropriated to them. This position requires coordination of materials, people, equipment, and subcontractors to ensure job site quality meets GroundsPRO standards. The Landscape Manager will work closely with the Account Managers and Production Managers to identify staffing needs, perform hiring duties, and prepare daily crew schedules. This position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced, error and accident-free environment. The Landscape Manager must have the ability to master the requirements of each of the positions that work in landscape maintenance and snow management.

Priorities

Develop and Maintain a Strong Team

  • Evaluate team strengths and limitations, augment as appropriate
  • Ensure proper development of Crew Leaders and client relationship – ensure the relationship is successful and fosters trust
  • Mentor Crew Leaders and crew team members to ensure effective implementation of GroundsPRO quality standards
  • Perform timely annual performance evaluations and personnel development strategies
  • Identify team members with the potential for growth/career path
  • Foster a cohesive team of Operations staff to ensure quick response to client expectations and quality production
  • Support timely and accurate implementation of procedures and paperwork

GroundsPRO Customer Service Standards

  • Accomplishes staff results by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees
  • Mentor Crew Leaders in building long-term client relationships
  • Provide assurance that contract obligations, quality standards, and expectations are fulfilled
  • Provide support to team members in performing and completing all client projects – we are the experts, and they are seeking our advice

GroundsPRO Quality Standards

  • Ensure GroundsPRO Quality Standards are met by all team members for all clients
  • Ensures operation of equipment by completing preventative maintenance requirements; following manufacturer’s instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs; maintaining equipment inventories, evaluating new equipment and techniques
  • Accountable for profitability by diligent monitoring and analysis of productivity
  • Manages control system to ensure extra billable work is performed in a timely, accurate and profitable manner
  • Assist with training and enforcing all safety procedures and policies
  • Assists with the development and implementation of long-term enhancement objectives of sites in the designated market area
  • Manages direct cost of sites in the designated market areas, meeting budget goals and business objectives
  • Manage service crews and assist administrative staff to satisfy contractual obligations and ensure responsive concern for client expectations

Summary of Specific Responsibilities

Management of Production on Snow Removal and Landscape Enhancements

  • Maintains standards and ensures quality
  • Implement procedures and processes, and coordinate routine and long-term tasks and schedules

Job Costing of Accounts

  • Develop and maintain schedule, accounting for and optimizing job locations, equipment allocation, crew skills, customer preferences, and job hours
  • Pre-planning and ordering materials/parts and job costing in the landscape management system once complete
  • Ensure contract compliance

Personnel

  • Recruit, hire and develop a landscape team
  • Maintain optimal standards of performance and initiate periodic evaluations
  • Act as liaison between field operations and general office management function
  • Represent the company in professional groups/associations
  • Maintain active contact with people and trends in the industry that affect operations

Qualifications and Experience

Required:

  • BS Degree (or equivalent) or 4 years of experience in landscape installation preferred
  • Knowledge of horticultural practices and plant identification
  • Strong communication skills – English verbal, written, and reading comprehension
  • Ability to develop strong client and employee relationships
  • Hands-on approach to task management, employee, and customer interaction
  • Strong time management and organizational skills
  • Strong analytical skills, ability to meet critical deadlines with accuracy and attention to detail
  • Responsive to client's needs and requests – build customer rapport
  • Valid Driver’s License and insurable

Preferred:

  • Certifications in Landscape Hardscapes, Softscapes, and Irrigation
  • Bi-lingual Spanish
  • Computer skills – Microsoft Word, Excel, and Email
  • Personnel Development
  • Professional Demeanor and Appearance
  • Proven leadership abilities with an organized and structured approach to crew supervision
  • Responsive with a positive attitude and initiative, team-oriented, and a strong role model
