Groomer's Choice is seeking qualfiied candidates for a Director of Manufacturing that will be responsible for the in-house manufacturing operations of the company. Must be a collaborative visionary leader who aims for rapid quality innovation in a department under significant growth and change. This position will be working closely with the warehouse and purchasing teams.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES

• Oversee production operations so that the manufacturing process runs smoothly and efficiently, while ensuring the manufacturing operations can meet the demands of new customers.
• Develop highly competitive manufacturing systems to support business development objectives, focused on understanding customer requirements and implementing safe and efficient production processes.
• Continuous improvement of business processes through a strong commitment to Lean Manufacturing Principles.
• Drive innovative ideas, solutions, and business processes through leadership.
• Evaluate results of planned objectives and take appropriate action to rectify deficiencies.
• Develop detailed facility productivity improvement plans incorporating organization design and key performance indicators.
• Plan and control the production schedule to meet daily target requirements.
• Lead reliability, compliance, quality, and safety programs for assigned area; ensures required government and/or environmental regulations are met.
• Ensure team is fully trained in, committed to, and conduct their activities in accordance with all aspects of safety and quality systems and requirements, coordinating quality and safety training.
• Increase production, assets capacity and flexibility while minimizing unnecessary costs and maintaining current quality standards.
• Handle all manufacturing software related tasks, such as building out new ERP for manufacturing.
• Direct new product batches and ensure the raw goods needed are in stock.
• Work with the Chemist to create new batch sheets for testing or scaling up to a specific tank size.
• Documentation of all disinfectant batches and work with AET for testing samples
• Other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE and SKILLS

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or business
• Previous 10 years’ experience with oversight of manufacturing operations
• Experience working in liquid manufacturing preferred.
• Excellent project management skills to manage complex processes to bring new products to market from development to production.
• Proven ability to establish a high performing manufacturing team; evaluating and reconfiguring as necessary to create a maintainable and collaborative group.
• Willingness to learn and research new concepts.
• Competent leader who manages, mentors, and develops direct reports while earning their respect.
• Thrives on generating big ideas nurturing relationships and driving culture.
