Education Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, electronics engineering, or other engineering or technical discipline is required.

Program Description: Create an end-to-end management perspective to ensure proper compliance and oversight of GI Bill programs, and the use of data and business intelligence to monitor and measure school and student outcomes.

Position Description: As a SQL and Jasper Report Developer, you will perform day-to-day querying and analysis using SQL queries and procedures, and script execution to enhance your understanding of data within a consolidated data store.

Responsibilities:

• Performing day-to-day querying and analysis using SQL queries and procedures, and script execution to enhance understanding of data within a consolidated data store
• Considering amorphous problem sets or functional requirements to determine a path forward on creating the query to support end-user business needs
• Migration of queries, including conversion of syntax, from Postgres DB to a Redshift data store  Develop materialized views, stored procedures, and scheduled queries
• Analyze existing queries for performance improvement and optimize runtime against the Redshift database
• Provide upskilling to team members and knowledge share usability and optimization techniques

Required Skills:

• Understanding of AWS tools such as S3
• Experience with developing complex SQL queries stored procedures, and materialized views
• Experience creating and maintaining stored procedures
• Experience with complex SQL querying Preferred Skills
• Experience with reporting tools such as Jasper Reporting
• Experience with Amazon Redshift and PostgresSQL
• Previous experience with VA and working on VA legacy systems for Education Service
• Agile Development

BA 5 or 8 years of additional relevant experience may be substituted for education
