Griffon Gastropub is Hiring a Barback Near Lewiston, NY

Griffon Gastropub-Lewiston is now hiring barbacks for the busy summer season. This role plays a crucial part in the smooth operation of a bar. The primary responsibility of a barback is to support the bartenders, ensuring they have everything they need to serve customers efficiently and effectively.

Pay $15 per hour plus amazing tips

Key Responsibilities-

  • Stocking Supplies: Ensure all bar stations are fully stocked with liquor, mixers, ice, napkins, straws, glassware, and other essentials. This includes regularly checking inventory levels and replenishing items as needed.
  • Preparation of Ingredients: Prepare garnishes like cutting lemons, limes, and other fruits; mix and prepare condiments, etc...
  • Maintaining Cleanliness: Keep the bar area clean and organized, including wiping down surfaces, cleaning spills, and washing glassware. This also involves maintaining a sanitary environment by adhering to health and safety regulations.
  • Assisting Bartenders: Respond to bartenders' requests promptly, helping them serve drinks, passing them ingredients or tools, and sometimes assisting with the actual preparation of beverages.
  • Handling Glassware: Ensure that there is always a sufficient supply of cleaned and polished glassware available.
  • Refilling Ice Bins: Regularly check and refill ice bins to ensure bartenders have ample ice for drink preparation.
  • Managing Waste: Remove trash and recycling as needed, keeping the work areas clear and free of debris.
  • Setting Up and Breaking Down: Assist in setting up the bar before it opens and breaking it down after it closes, which includes cleaning, organizing, and ensuring everything is stored properly.
  • Customer Service: Although not directly responsible for serving customers, barbacks should be prepared to answer basic customer questions and interact politely with patrons when necessary.
  • Support During Rush Periods: Provide extra hands during busy periods, ensuring that bartenders can focus more on serving drinks and less on stocking and other tasks.
