What is the SolarCorps Fellowship Program…
GRID Alternatives’ SolarCorps Fellowship Program is an opportunity for highly motivated and enthusiastic people to join GRID Alternatives for an 11-month paid service term. In this position, you’ll gain valuable experience in the renewable energy and non-profit industries while making significant contributions to communities most impacted by environmental and economic injustice!

The SolarCorps Fellowship Program is part of the AmeriCorps network of programs. SolarCorps is made possible with funding support from AmeriCorps and JPB Foundation.
The Opportunity…
We are seeking a Clean Mobility Outreach Fellow to engage with underserved communities impacted by environmental and economic injustice about the benefits and cost-savings of e-bikes as a clean transportation option. The fellow will be trained and supervised by GRID's regional clean mobility outreach managers to support eligible community members through the e-bike program processes and educate community members about other clean energy and transportation programs. Fellows will also gain skills in professional relationship building, facilitation, logistics, and program management that will be transferable within the renewable energy, education, and nonprofit industries.
  • Community Engagement- provide coordination and facilitation support for community engagement efforts such as mobile workshops and focus groups in order to increase awareness of e-bikes (20%)
  • Community Care- support the onboarding and equipment overview process for community members participating in e-bike programs (35%)
  • eBike Management- support e-bike assembly and testing, distribution to warehouse and checkout storefronts, and staging activities, such that e-bikes are safe and available for use by community members (20%)
  • Storefront Support- provide operational support to storefront partners, such that back-end check-in/out procedures are supported and community members have increased access to check-in/out times and other support services (25%)
What you need to bring to this role…
  • Must be 18 years or older
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to represent GRID Alternatives positively
  • Strong organizational and, multi-tasking skills
  • Strong computer skills
  • Interest and enthusiasm for renewable energy, community development, and helping families and communities in need.
It would be great if you also had…
  • Clean, valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
  • Bilingual in Cantonese, Korean, Mandarin, or other languages used by Asian American Pacific Islander communities
