Greystone is Hiring a Managing Director - Structured Products Near New York, NY

We are looking for a Structured Products Managing Director to support the Alternative Capital Platform that specializes in creating new loan products and delivering various agency and proprietary debt products to multifamily clients including but not limited to direct sponsors, financial institutions, and funds. This position is based in New York, NY.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Manage, support, and expand new and existing borrower relationships by collaborating with a business leader and Senior Managing Director with existing borrower contacts.
  • Partner with Senior Managing Director to drive new client and capital partner business development activities, particularly with respect to institutional clients, including banks and debt funds.
  • Prospect for new borrower and capital partner relationships including identifying and procuring target clients, banks, and direct relationships.
  • Create, launch, and implement go-to-market strategies, relationship plans, and other account management tools to expand origination.
  • Work in conjunction with Product Manager and Analyst to prepare preliminary underwriting and screening of deals for agency, private label, and bridge products.
  • Negotiate with borrowers and internal resources.
  • Successfully guide clients from commitment through underwriting to closing of the loan.
  • Identify business opportunities and cross-sell the entire suite of Greystone products including but not limited to, agency, bridge, liquidity, preferred equity, loan servicing, etc.
Experience, Skills, and Abilities Required:
  • Bachelor's degree. A finance degree is preferred.
  • 10 years of professional experience required in commercial real estate finance.
  • Existing client base or proven experience developing client relationships.
  • Background in mortgage brokerage, banking, or capital markets with existing contacts or originating loans for execution with multiple institutions, including banks or debt funds, preferred.
  • Strategic mindset focusing on business development and account management process
  • People management experience preferred.
  • Firm understanding of production and sales principles paired with credit knowledge and background. Understanding of Bank, Bridge, CMBS, life company, fund, and Agency originations preferred.
  • Ability to balance multiple objectives and self-direct activities to accomplish objectives.
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Driven, innovative team player who is focused on results and strives to deliver a superior work product.
  • Knowledge of MS Office with advanced Excel skills required.

Greystone offers a competitive base salary and bonus. The base salary range for this position is $175,000 to $300,000/year. The specific compensation that will be offered is based on an understanding of the hired candidates' qualifications at the time of hire. Employees are eligible for a discretionary bonus based on employee work performance reviewed during the annual review process.
