Gregg Young Automotive Group is searching for Service Advisors who enjoy & take great pride performing quality service and who appreciate a cohesive work environment that provides a healthy work / life balance to become a member on our Fixed Operations TEAM as a Service Manager at our dealership in Ottumwa Ia.

As a Service Advisor, you will be responsible for providing exceptional service to our customers and ensuring their satisfaction with their automotive service experience. Your role will involve assisting customers with their vehicle service needs, recommending necessary repairs and maintenance, and coordinating with our service technicians to ensure timely completion of work.

Responsibilities:

• Greet customers and provide them with a warm welcome to our service department
• Listen to customer concerns and accurately document their vehicle's issues
• Conduct thorough vehicle inspections to identify necessary repairs and maintenance
• Provide detailed explanations of recommended services, including cost estimates and timelines
• Perform a visual inspection of the vehicle, conduct a walk-around of the vehicle to identify additional areas of concern
• Conduct multi-point video inspections
• Establish working relationships with our quality, professionally trained service technicians to provide the best service experience and secure future customer retention & referrals
• Coordinate with service technicians to ensure efficient scheduling and completion of work
• Keep customers informed of the status of their vehicle throughout the service process
• Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, service history, and repairs performed
• Operate independently as rapidly as possible to service the concern & get to the next job with the support of the service manager and service advisors

Skills:
To excel in this role, you should possess the following skills:

• Strong mechanical knowledge and understanding of automotive systems
• Familiarity with diesel engine repair and tire services is a plus
• Excellent customer service skills with the ability to build rapport and trust
• Effective communication skills, both verbal and written
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
• Proficient computer skills for data entry and record keeping
• Experience in automotive sales or service writing is preferred
