**Overview:**
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll and Benefits Clerk to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting principles and payroll processes.
**Responsibilities:**
- Process payroll for employees accurately and timely
- Maintain payroll operations by following policies and procedures
- Prepare reports by compiling summaries of earnings, taxes, deductions, leave, disability, and nontaxable wages
- Resolve payroll discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information
- Update payroll records by entering changes in exemptions, insurance coverage, savings deductions, and job title and department/division transfers
- Prepare reports for accounting department as needed
- Benefits administration
- Process job costing entries and reconciliations
- Assist accounting with special projects.
- Assist with general office duties including making copies, scanning documents, faxing, and mailing.
- Perform monthly reconciliations
- Enter journal entries, including intercompany transactions
- Perform other duties as directed.
**Qualifications:**
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field preferred
- Previous experience as a Payroll Clerk or in a similar role
- Computer literacy, including use of Microsoft products
- Experience with Sage 100, preferred
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks effectively
