Job Description

The Site Supervisor is responsible for directing and managing the site operations with overall accountability for maintenance and the efficient and effective operations of the site to ensure delivery of a work product that meets or exceeds the customer’s expectations. The Site Supervisor will also work independently and with plant personnel to perform facilities, mobile equipment, and production routine maintenance tasks which requires the ability to troubleshoot issues, repair failures of production and facilities equipment, and ensure maximum equipment efficiency and effectiveness. All tasks will be performed while supporting the policies, goals, and objectives of the company.

Responsibilities

  • Plans, directs, and manages site personnel and operations to ensure the objectives are accomplished in a timely and cost-effective manner
  • Oversees services including adhering to a financial budget; hiring, training, and maintaining staff; working with customer to resolve issues; and ensuring services provided support continuous cost containment practices
  • Manages 3rd party contractors when needed to complete facilities improvement projects.
  • Creates plans for short- and long-term business concerns and operations that ensure compliance with the requirements of local, state, and federal governments; Human Resource standards and practices; and other business standards as required
  • Coordinates business communications with client, management, and operations team
  • Trains, develops, and mentors staff on best business practices
  • Prioritizes, analyzes, and makes recommendations for making improvements and solving maintenance related problems
  • Manages and participates in site safety, health, environmental, and training programs
  • Manages employee relations and human resource tasks and escalates issues to management in a timely manner
  • Monitors and measures personnel performance against company goals and objectives while ensuring personnel follow policies, procedures, and industrial standards and practices
  • Provides leadership and direction for personnel through effective communications, mentoring, coaching, training, and development
  • Repairs and maintains plant machinery and equipment such as generators, ovens, A/C units, compressors, and pumps
  • Repairs or replaces control devices such as switches, photo eyes, proximity sensors, pushbuttons, contactors, motor starters, etc., as needed
  • Performs work order repairs, inspections, and adjustments
  • Set up and operate welders, drill press, grinder, hand tools and other metal working equipment
  • Fabricates and modifies new and existing equipment as needed
  • Assists efforts in root cause analysis, problem solving, and elimination of recurring issues
  • Handles and moves hazardous materials including waste blasting media, paint, and petroleum-based products, which may include wearing provided safety equipment including protective gloves, safety glasses or face shields, aprons, and a respirator as required
  • Ensures all safety procedures, practices, and regulations are followed before, during, and after the process to foster a positive safety culture by having a safety-first mindset and approach during execution of activities
  • Performs other duties as assigned


Qualifications

  • High school diploma
  • Ten (10) years of experience in plant/industrial or lean manufacturing or continuous improvement environment
  • At least 5 years of experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, mechanics, and basic electrical repair
  • Ability to read and interpret documents and drawings and write detailed repair reports
  • Strong mathematical skills to include basic algebra for calculation of electrical/electronic equations as applicable
  • Proven leader and team player with strong work ethic
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Strong working knowledge of PMs, W/Os, planning-scheduling, and work assignment
  • Familiar with CMMS-type systems
  • Ability to willingly make decisions, exhibit sound and accurate judgment, and make timely decisions
  • Ability to handle objections and negotiate
  • Ability to lead people and produce results through others
  • High level of customer service skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills (both listening and speaking)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work overtime and on alternate shifts based on customer’s needs
  • Excellent attention to detail and a sense of urgency with the ability to prioritize with an emphasis on quality of work
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office or similar Windows based software required
  • Proven experience leading and mentoring employees to promote a positive, productive, and effective work environment
  • Experience demonstrating successful support of a positive safety culture
  • Ability to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation(s)
  • Expertise and proficiency with basic office computer software and the ability to learn how to effectively use maintenance software to input data and research parts preferred
  • HVAC, Electrical, and/or Hazardous Waste License preferred
