GreenWood, Inc. is Hiring a CNC Engineering Technician (EAN) Near Charleston, SC

Job Description

The CNC Engineering Technician will work closely with the Maintenance team and drive systematic troubleshooting protocols and standards within a thriving and growing department. He/she will be heavily focused on ensuring equipment uptime and improving performance of complex machining and manufacturing equipment onsite while taking initiative and drawing on his/her resourcefulness.

Responsibilities

  • Interacts, supports, and collaborates daily with skilled machine electricians and mechanics providing them with systematic troubleshooting guidance on complex state of the art manufacturing equipment
  • Successfully applies complex knowledge of fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures to expedite troubleshooting and repair of complex CNC Machine Tools with integrated electronic, hydraulic, robotics, and pneumatics systems
  • Communicates maintenance and repair efforts frequently to Facilities Management and cross-functional groups in a customer-facing capacity
  • Provides project management-level support and leadership for maintenance and repair events and ownership over outcome
  • Develops work instructions for recurring repairs and processes
  • Participates in the specification, selection, installation, and commissioning of Capital Equipment
  • Develops Predictive and Preventive Maintenance Program for a variety of production assets to ensure correct reliability checks are being made
  • Drives execution of the Computer Maintenance Management System (CMMS) and ensures all applicable documents, drawings, and instructions are available for machine evaluation, troubleshoot, and repair
  • Works with Facility Maintenance Management in the development of new technologies
  • Upholds metric performance, i.e., machine uptime, predictive, and OEE
  • Supports continuous improvement initiatives
  • Ensures all safety procedures, practices, and regulations are followed before, during, and after the process to foster a positive safety culture by having a safety-first mindset and approach during execution of activities
  • Performs other duties as assigned


Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • At least 5 years of directly related work experience (minimum required)
  • Extensive experience in a manufacturing environment working on CNC machine tools, manufacturing machinery, production, and test equipment
  • Troubleshooting experience with CNC controls (Siemens, Fanuc) and PLC Logic (Siemens, Allen-Bradley, GE)
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills and the ability to interact with cross functional teams
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently or in small teams using schematics, diagrams, and written and verbal descriptions
  • Excellent prioritization, planning, and documentation skills
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft software (Windows, Office Suite, etc.)
  • Thorough knowledge of Electrical Schematics and technical drawings preferred
  • Experience as a maintenance or service technician on heavy industrial, automated, and/ or manufacturing equipment preferred
  • Electronics experience in a manufacturing, assembly, and/ or troubleshooting capacity preferred
  • Experience developing and conducting classroom and/or virtual training preferred
  • Experience demonstrating successful support of a positive safety culture
  • Ability to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation(s)
