Job Description & Duties:
A growing Philadelphia area stevedore and terminal operating company is seeking a highly motivated individual to work as Container Gate Manager. Successful candidate must be able to work in a fast paced, drug free environment. Candidate will have to direct and supervise ILA Clerical Longshoremen preforming container gate interchange operations. Candidate will also coordinate with Terminal Operations to assist with scheduling and pricing of various terminal services. Candidate will monitor truck queue and terminal traffic in order to meet all safety and productivity standards, and assist to resolve personnel issues when they arise. Candidate will monitor container gate systems, equipment, and software, and coordinate with internal IT Departments, as well as third party IT providers. Candidate will also coordinate with other internal Company Departments, as well as Governmental Agencies, when required.

• Ability to solve problems, look ahead to avoid problems, and follow work through to completion.
• Must be a team player with a positive attitude and have the ability to supervise and direct groups of unionized individuals.
• Must be able to assume a leadership role, work independently, and participate in an established safety program.
• Ability to coordinate with internal departments, customers and their agents, and vendors.
• Good correspondence and computer skills (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.) with the ability to learn in-house network.
• Ability to work the occasional Holiday or weekend shift when required.
• Must be able to obtain a “TWIC” card.
• Experience with Terminal Operating Systems and/or Gate Operating Systems a plus.
