DESCRIPTION:

The Body Shop Estimator helps ensure the overall efficiency, profitability, and reputation of our auto body shop operations by providing timely, accurate, and customer-approved estimates for repair work. The Estimator documents estimates and the necessary repair work according to established industry standards and insurance company regulations.

The ideal candidate has some post-secondary education or training and at least one year of dealer-level or large facility experience. Candidates must have an unrestricted driver's license and a strong technical and customer service performance record. Maintaining a consistent level of outstanding customer satisfaction and excellent communication skills are must have qualities for the Estimator position. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assess the extent of damage through inspections
• Estimate repair and labor costs and calculate overall customer payment
• Establish good customer relations by providing accurate estimates, timelines, relevant customer information and handling customer queries effectively
• Collect insurance estimates and resolve replacement and repair requirements
• Ensures that required documentation is complete and is in compliance with regulations and standards
• Maintains work area in a neat and organized manner
• Performs other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

• One year of dealer-level or large facility experience preferred
• Certification or designation in the field of automotive repair a plus
• Excellent communication, customer service, and problem solving skills, including the ability to maintain composure under stress
• Strong organization skills, able to multi-task, and can manage time to meet frequently changing deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Maintain robust customer service and follow-up skills
• Highly professional and dependable
• Able to drive both automatic and standard-transmission vehicles
• Must have a valid driver's license
