Do you love starting your day with the smell of fresh coffee? If so, Greenville University is seeking a Supervisor to join our favorite on-campus coffee shop, Jo’s Java and Panter Clawset! If you are passionate about coffee, being kind and offering superb customer service, this job may be for you.

Responsibilities:

• Overseeing the day-to-day operations of the coffee shop
• Bookkeeping, maintaining records, and running deposits
• Solving challenges faced by customers and employees
• Overseeing cleanliness and maintenance of the shop
• Hiring and training employees
• Adjusting menu to maintain customer flow
• Maintaining inventory, ordering, and receiving product
• Collaborating with Athletic Boosters club
• Managing on-line sales with partnering vendor/supplier
• Working with marketing dept on new swag designs

Necessary Skills & Qualifications:

• Food safety certification
• Knowledge of trends in the coffee industry
• Ability to prepare a variety of beverages
• Basic money handling skills and accounting knowledge
• Ability to effectively communicate with patrons and employees
• Self-motivated and inspiring
• Ability to prioritize effectively
• Ability to stand for long periods of time
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs
• Availability during operational hours (may include nights, weekends, and holidays)
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Observe and comply with all relevant health and safety standards.

Requirements

 Qualifications:

• High School diploma or GED equivalent
• Retail, hospitality or customer service experience is preferred
• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively
• Self-starter and strong ability to multi-task
• Ability to foresee needs of customers and provide proactive support
• Previous experience in operating a POS system
