ANTICIPATED SALARY RANGE :

Salary commensurate with experience within state guidelines

HOURS :

Up to 25 hrs / week, requires flexible hours; some evenings / weekends and travel overnight on occasion

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES

In this challenging role, you will support the Environmental Health & Safety Department of Economic Development and Corporate Training at Greenville Technical College.

Duties may include any or all of the following :

  • Instruct in all areas of the Environmental Health & Safety program.
  • Follow the progress of all students and complete student forms as required by sponsoring agencies and Greenville Technical College.
  • Take an active role in the revision of all planning for curriculum changes and hands-on training procedures.
  • Assist program manager with administrative duties as requested.
  • Assist in maintaining all required reporting data and work product.
  • Be available to instruct in evening and weekend classes, when needed.
  • Manage classrooms / hands-on training in a cost effective manner, utilizing available resources and maintaining needed supplies.
  • On a regular basis, plan and coordinate supply orders for all classrooms.
  • Keep current on regulatory changes and changes in trends in areas of responsibility.
  • Work as a team member, to accomplish long and short term goals.
  • Maintain competence through continuous professional development.
  • Complete other duties as assigned.
  • Available to travel to other sites for program delivery.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Three (3) - five (5) years general environmental / safety experience
  • Flexible and willing to instruct day or evening classes and attend / supervise students during the required course attendance
  • Available to travel to other sites for program delivery
  • Basic computer skills

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Related education with an Associate's degree.* Current EPA certifications in asbestos and / or lead disciplines.* One (1) - three (3) years supervisory experience.
  • Excellent communication skills.* Instructional experience - Adult level.* Working knowledge of program management in environmental / safety classes, including course development.
  • Ability to exercise reasonable judgment / discretion / handle problems in a professional manner.* Ability to work with minimal supervision in coordination of classes, lecture, and hands-on training sessions.
  • Ability to plan for future needs as well as lead day to day classes / hands-on training sessions.* Ability / willingness to assist Program Manager as assigned, with duties related to the Environmental / Safety course offerings.
