GreenStone Construction is Hiring a Project Manager (Construction) Near Fargo, ND

Position Description: Control the time, cost, and quality of a wide variety of commercial construction projects with an emphasis working on federal government projects. Coordinate, plan, and supervise project activities with subcontractors, vendors, and other team members concerned with the construction of buildings and other construction projects.

Responsibilities:

  • To exceed customers’ expectations and create repeat business and referrals
  • Manage project objectives, policies, procedures and performance standards within boundaries of corporate policies
  • Hold regular communication meetings with all stakeholders to keep communication strong and ensure project goals are being met
  • Actively manage risk, safety, and quality
  • Execute timely owner/subcontractor contracts with accuracy, be thorough and follow to completion
  • Act as liaison with prime client and A/E contacts to facilitate construction activities
  • Manage the financial aspects of all contracts to ensure project success
  • Manage the client’s overall expectations including time, budget, quality, and communication
  • Establish the clients, architects, and Greenstone’s roles/responsibilities from the beginning of the project
  • Forecast and report potential project problems to the management team
  • Monitor/control construction through administrative direction of on-site supervision
  • Manage all financial aspects of project (fee payment, equipment rental, etc.)
  • Ensure accurate estimating of project from the onset to ensure profitability
  • Conduct plan review
  • Solicit, review, and approve bids
  • Monitor and manage all change orders
  • Forecast accurate project costs
  • Ensure projects are completed on time
  • Represent Greenstone in project meetings
  • Facilitate and troubleshoot problems associated with coordinating and developing the construction projects
  • Manage project issues, submittals, RFIs and changes to ensure no impact to the construction progress
  • Clear communication to the owner of schedule impacts as early as possible
  • To build and manage a productive and effective construction team
  • Plan, organize and execute with key team members to ensure the project’s success
  • Monitor and manage the project team members
  • Ensure all billings, accounts receivables, and accounts payable documentation is turned into accounting accurately and timely
  • Provide clear and timely communication to the project team
  • Ask the appropriate questions to team members to ensure that the project objectives are not being missed
  • Ensure all subcontractors understand rules for working on the project including security protocols, dress code, safety requirements, tenant interaction, noise levels, etc.
  • Maintain and advance job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, and other continuing education opportunities
  • Perform additional duties as requested by the immediate supervisor

Requirements:

  • Requires five (5) years successful working experience in project management, preferably in a commercial construction setting
  • Degree in construction management or related degree preferred
  • Experience reviewing design document submittals, reviewing cost and schedule estimates, collecting, preparing, and reporting project information
  • Strong leadership and follow up skills, with a hands-on approach to completing all projects in a timely and efficient manner
  • Must be able to apply innovative and effective management techniques to maximize employee performance with thorough understanding of corporate and industry practices, processes, standards, etc. and their impact on project activities is important
  • Must have strong problem solving, negotiating, and interpersonal skills
  • Must be organized, reliable, punctual, and be able to work in a team-oriented atmosphere while maintaining confidentiality
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills required
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast paced environment
  • Must be able to travel to job sites throughout the upper Midwest
