Director of Facilities (as needed)
Non-Exempt, 12 Month Position
The Property and Plant Maintenance Technician provides a variety of skilled work in the maintenance, alteration, and repair of the facilities. The Property and Plant Maintenance Technician maintains school buildings and grounds in top condition to ensure full productive use of facilities.
This is a 12-month, on-campus position, five days per week, Monday through Friday, and requires regular evening and weekend work.
The Property and Plant Maintenance Technician models the GDS Community Cornerstones of Respect, Kindness, Integrity, and Responsibility.
Performs other duties as assigned by the Chief Financial Officer, Director of Facilities, and Maintenance Supervisor

Work environment involves some exposure to hazards or physical risks, which require following basic safety precautions. Work may involve moderate exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and/or loud noises. Regular weekend, early morning, and evening hours are required. This position may be required to work when campus is closed and work outside during inclement weather conditions. This position must be available to communicate by phone. The noise level in this work environment is moderate to high.
The position involves continuous physical activity and the job may be physically demanding. It requires, at times, heavy physical work, heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling of objects up to 50 pounds. Physical work is a primary part (more than 70%) of the job. The position may require the employee to stand for extended periods of time, lift heavy objects on a regular basis, and do repetitive tasks with few breaks. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
