General Summary

The CI Leader will be responsible for driving and sustaining a culture that promotes various continuous improvement activities across the DOAS BU. To be successful, they will need to work with cross-functional teams from engineering and operations to lead, coordinate, and sustain changes to improve safety, quality, and productivity. Training current and new team members on various topics regarding field concerns, internal quality findings, product enhancements, process changes, and new hire onboarding will be a critical part of the role. When needed, the CI Leader will be responsible for developing new processes/procedures for production floor documents, training materials, sustainment activities, and communication methods.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Drive, improve, and monitor quality enhancements through process audits, unit audits, One-Point Lesson (1PL) creation and communication, and other sustainment activities
• Effectively communicate, enhance, create, and sustain process improvements for the Quality Management System (QMS)
• Identify, participate, and lead projects, pit stops, and quick fixes to continuously improve products and processes
• Attend, participate, and conduct meetings related to product quality, enhancements, and productivity
• Analyze and monitor quality metrics and prepare and present to leadership as needed.
• Share best practices across the DOAS business sites, where applicable
• Communicate effectively both one-on-one and with groups
• Coach and mentor teammates on the processes and values of the Quality Management System (QMS)
• Actively support Safety and 5S teams to drive product and process improvements
• Liaison between the engineering teams and production team to drive product enhancements to new or current products
• Liaison between the production team and the Operation leadership team to drive process enhancements to new or current processes
• Lead and/or assist in troubleshooting manufacturing and assembly process challenges
• Update, maintain, and create manufacturing documentation such as SOPs, visual aids, checklists, etc.
• Assist DOAS Business unit teams with new product integration, including effective manufacturing processes, review of assembly documentation and SOPs, tool identification, and bench setups
• Assist in developing new methods of onboard training for new teammates to steepen the ramp-up curve and increase the quality of products/process
• Assist in creating and organizing subject matter for training courses that consist of both classroom and hands-on training for production team members
• Coordinate and conduct classroom and hands-on training for current and new-hire team members
• Partner with technical trainers to support and improve training agendas, ensuring that changes to DOAS products are reflected in their training

Minimum Qualifications

• Extensive knowledge of specific products, processes, and procedures across multiple departments
• Strong leadership and change management skills
• Prior experience in a leadership role
• Ability to train and coach others
• Demonstrates a positive attitude.
• Lean Leader Certificate or the ability to complete in the first year
• Ability to work any full-time shift as needed including a split shift
• Ability to flex working hours as needed to support training and communications to other shifts
• Available for periodic travel to remote facilities and training courses.
• Must be at least Grade 3 and have been in their current position for at least 6 months
• No Written Warnings for Attendance in the past 12 months and no disciplinary actions within the last 6 months
• Microsoft Office experience (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
