Greeneville City Schools is currently accepting on-line applications for a Culinary Arts teacher at the Greene Technology Center. The Culinary Arts teacher should have extensive practical culinary experience to teach introductory and advanced courses in culinary arts. Instructional topics may include, but not limited to: kitchen safety and sanitation, knife cuts and skills, cooking methods and techniques, and meat fabrication.
Qualifications:
Minimum Education: High School Diploma, degree preferred.
Work Experience:
a. 5 years of relevant work experience, completed within the last 10 years;
b. 3 years of relevant work experience, completed within the last 10 years, and an Associate degree in culinary arts; or
c. 1 year of relevant work experience, completed within the last 10 years and a Bachelor’s degree in culinary arts.
Example Qualifying Experience: Caterer, executive chef, head chef, pastry chef, personal chef, restaurant manager.
Priorities are student success through ongoing feedback aligning with the industry's professional and performance standards includes modeling community service involvement. The CTE Teacher (Grades 9-12) is responsible for teaching TN State CTE Standards to high school students in order to fulfill the requirements of the program of study in the chosen area. In addition, the Teacher will attain certification through 12 hours of coursework at the university level or a TNDOE state-sponsored Educator Prep Program (EPP). This is a full-time position that does include benefits.
Applicant must have strong written, verbal, presentation, and interpersonal skills. Must have satisfactory background/fingerprint checks as required by the Tennessee State Department of Education and state law. Must meet health and physical requirements.
