Summary

The Group Leader guides production employees in their daily work facilitating, equipping, and supplying employees with tools and equipment for the assigned project. The Group leader helps resolve employee questions or issues, and coordinates activities to maximize production flow.

Duties And Responsibilities

To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform the following essential duties satisfactorily. Other duties may be assigned to address business needs and changing business practices.

  • Reviews schedules and leads production employees in their daily work for the department they are assigned to
  • Interprets work orders and requirements for welding, painting, fabricating, and assembling
  • Coordinates tools, equipment, and supplies for employees to complete work
  • Investigates work performance issues and recommends and implements solutions within established policies
  • Coordinates activities between work groups
  • Recommends changes to improve methods, procedures, and equipment to increase production
  • Ensures that safety and housekeeping standards are met and maintained

Qualifications

The following generally describes requirements to successfully perform the assigned duties.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 1 years experience working in a manufacturing facility
  • Ability to document records accurately under tight timeframes
  • Ability to accurately demonstrate visual inspections for safety, equipment and processes, parts and welding processes
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions including basic blue prints and schematics
  • Ability to work both alone, and in a team environment
  • Ability to communicate professionally, both verbally and in writing
  • Proficient in computer applications including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Ability to receive and interpret information and communicate it accordingly
  • Ability to make quick, effective judgements to resolve problems or navigate challenges

Preferred Qualifications

  • High school education or equivalent
  • 3 years related experience including knowledge of shop production methods and processes, and product and material specifications
