Requirements

  • Provide financial insights and analysis to help drive strategic decision-making and performance improvements.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to operational leaders, providing financial guidance and support as needed.
  • Monitor and analyze costs and expenses across various operational areas.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce costs and improve cost efficiency without sacrificing quality or service levels. Develop and implement cost control measures and initiatives to achieve financial targets.
  • Manage inventory levels and inventory accounting processes to optimize inventory turnover and minimize carrying costs.
  • Implement inventory control procedures to ensure accuracy and integrity of inventory data.
  • Collaborate with supply chain and operations teams to forecast demand and plan inventory levels accordingly.
  • Analyze financial data and performance metrics to provide insights and recommendations for improving operational efficiency and profitability.
  • Prepare budgets, forecasts, and variance analyses to assess financial performance against targets.
  • Provide financial analysis and reporting to senior management to support strategic decision-making.
  • Lead or participate in cross-functional teams to implement process improvements and drive operational excellence.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of process changes and initiatives, making adjustments as needed.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including operations, sales, and procurement, to support business objectives and initiatives.
  • Provide leadership and direction to finance and accounting staff responsible for operational accounting and reporting functions.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the finance team.
  • Coach and develop team members to enhance their skills and capabilities.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Work Experience - minimum of 7 years of experience in accounting with responsibility for cost accounting. 
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting
  • Knowledgeable of Generally Accepted Accounting Principals
  • Proficiency with costing standards, cost systems and variance analysis.
  • Attention to detail, proven analytical and problem-solving abilities. 
  • Good written and verbal communication skills 
  • ERP System experience (JD Edwards preferred)
  • Must be proficient in MS Office software - Word & Excel
  • Ability to multi-task and establish priorities.
