Greenbriar Nursing Center is looking for an experienced Infection Control / wound care Nurse to join our team! At Greenbriar, our goal is to provide an exceptional service to our residents in a home-like environment. As the Infection Control Nurse, your primary role is plan, organize, and direct the infection control program and its activities in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations.
Requirements
- Valid, unrestricted Nursing License for MS (RN Preferred)
- 2 years of previous nursing experience (required)
- Specialized training in infection control (required)
- Previous experience in Long-Term Care setting (strongly preferred)
Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and conduct in-service training programs relative to infection control
- Maintain a current knowledge and education of current infection control best practices
- Serve on and actively participate in QAPI/PIP committees and meetings
- Establish and maintain the facilities resident and employee TB Testing and record keeping as required by the State Health Department
- Prepare written summary of monthly surveillance and report to QAA Committee
- Maintain facility antibiotic stewardship initiatives
- Conduct routine immunization programs for facility
- Monitor the facility of outbreak of communicable disease and address/report public health departments as necessary
- Ensure nursing service personnel follow established infection control and hand hygiene procedures according to facility policy
