General Summary:

The Barista will prepare and serve specialty coffee, other beverages to members/guests.

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Primary Duties
  • Prepares and serves hot and cold beverages, such as coffee, blended coffee, and tea, to members/guests; correctly customizes orders as requested.
  • Describes product details to members/guests.
  • Ensures barista station is properly stocked with paper products or beverage preparation items.
  • Cleans and sanitizes all equipment, utensils, dishes, and work areas.
  • Stocks supplies; may inventory, order, or receive products as directed.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Skills and Abilities Required:

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to follow all safe food handling procedures and sanitation practices.
• Good memory to manage multiple orders simultaneously and recall faces, names, and preferences of frequent members.
• Ability to serve members/guests quickly and efficiently.

Certification/Education and Experience:

• Food safety certification required.

Working Condition:

• There is a potential for stressful situations and for long hours including weekend shifts.
• Constantly works in hot, humid, and noisy environment conditions.

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to remain in a stationary position for prolonged periods of time.
• The person in this position frequently communicates with managers and colleagues regarding drink orders, workstation, etc. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
• Adjusting or moving objects up to 15 pounds in all directions.
• Frequently positions self to complete assigned tasks.
