ABOUT THE COLLEGE:

Green River College's student body is made up of approximately 41% Academic Transfer students, 34% Professional-Technical, 15% Adult Basic Education, 3% Applied Bachelor degrees. Green River College has four campuses, including the main campus in Auburn, with satellite campuses in Kent, downtown Auburn, and Enumclaw. Green River programs serve high school graduates, Running Start students (dual enrollment in local high schools and the college), those seeking retraining for the workforce, international students, students learning English, and Continuing Education students. Green River's service areas are increasingly ethnically diverse, comprising African Americans, African immigrants, Asian Americans, Asians, Latinx, Native Americans, Pacific Islanders, and Middle Eastern Americans, among other communities.

The Industry Partnership Manager plays a pivotal role in fostering mutually beneficial relationships between our college and industry partners, with a primary focus on expanding internship and work-based learning opportunities for students in our Career Technical Education programs. This role is instrumental in bridging the gap between academia and the professional world, ensuring our students gain invaluable real-world experience while facilitating collaboration with industry leaders. 

As the Industry Partnership Manager, your mission is to establish, nurture, and leverage strategic alliances with industry partners to better understand workforce needs and challenges, stay abreast of industry trends and changes and create meaningful learning experiences for our students while enhancing the college's reputation as a valuable resource in workforce development.   • Coordinate and support community and industry relationships
  • Act as a liaison between the college and partner organizations
  • Collaborate with local employers, business organizations, and community groups to identify positions for students and create internship and work-based learning opportunities
  • Assist students and faculty coordinators in securing internship placements
  • Establish and maintain employer contacts and agreements for program student placements
  • Maintain a database of employers and internships, collecting and tracking placement data
  • Network with professional/community organizations involved in job placement/training
  • Advise faculty and administration on employment trends and local business community needs
  • Coordinate recruitment days, employer panels, and job fairs
  • Develop marketing materials to promote job placement services on and off campus
  • Foster employment networking to assist students and graduates in finding positions in their field
  • Stay updated on industry trends and labor market information
  • Build and maintain collaborative relationships with students, staff, and industry partners
  • Develop industry-focused outreach efforts and continually refine strategies for maximum impact
  • Create a prospective partner database and use various communication methods to engage prospects
  • Support deans with Comprehensive Local Needs Assessment (CLNA) development and data analysis and tracking of CLNA activities to improve performance measure and ensure institutional mission fulfillment
Minimum Qualifications: 
  • 1-2 years of demonstrated experience in relationship building and collaboration with individuals in a variety of industries.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present clearly and concisely to individuals and groups at in-person events.
  • Commitment to racial equity and experience working with diverse teams.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Word, Excel, Publisher, and PowerPoint) and a general comfort with technology. Willingness to learn Adobe products if not already proficient.
  • Proactive, engaged, and adept at managing multiple projects and tasks with competing deadlines.
  • Dedication to continuous learning and professional development.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality, think critically, exercise independent judgment, and be creative in problem-solving.
  • Understanding of and curiosity for diverse perspectives, along with a commitment to learning about different cultures and student populations to adapt the industry engagement strategy effectively.
  • Willingness to learn about our Career Technical programs and industries to effectively communicate opportunities to prospective students, industry and community members.
 
WORKING CONDITIONS:
 
  • Must have the ability to sit for prolonged period of time at a desk/computer workstation
  • Frequent repetitive arm, hand, and finger motions
  • Frequent use of computer and exposure to terminal screen in performing work assignments
  • Work in an office setting with frequent interruptions
  • Must be able to maintain “regular and predictable attendance”
  • Must have reliable regular transportation to in-person meetings or events, typically within 30 miles, may be further 
  • Valid WA driver’s license and automobile Insurance or equivalent evidence of reliable transportation to/from events with ability to transport college outreach/recruitment materials. 
  • May need to carry, lift or move equipment/supplies up to 30lbs
  • Work schedule: (Flexible, be typically available for 9a-5p hours with some evening and weekend events as needed)
