Description

We are now hiring for a Full-Time Wire Hub Cable Solutions Production Lead for our rapidly expanding Electrical Supplies business. This position will be located at our Kirkwood, NY branch.

Schedule: Monday - Friday during business operating hours

As a Production Lead, you will be part of the Green Mountain Electric Supply (GMES) Cable Solutions team, and responsible for all Wire Hub new equipment installations, used equipment refurbishment, preventative maintenance, repairs, improvement opportunities, training of operators on safe and effective use of Wire Hub equipment, and ongoing assessments of operator safety, quality and delivery in support of wire and cable respool and paralleling services. As needed to support peak demand customer orders, address supplier master reel defects, and to lead by example as lead trainer, you will be an experienced wire and cable operator capable of operating all Wire Hub production lines at the highest level of safety, quality, and delivery proficiency. You will engage in hands on exploration of new opportunities and collaborate with the operations team and the Cable Solutions team to monitor and solicit feedback and identify improvement opportunities that support GMES’ strategic growth plan. You will achieve this while embracing and supporting the growth of GMES culture and values.

Requirements

• Experience with wire and cable respool, paralleling, and bundling processes and equipment
• Hands on troubleshooting, repair, replacement, and upgrades of pneumatics, hydraulics, electrics, and mechanical components as needed to maintain 100% uptime and availability of equipment 
• Maintains replacement parts list and parts on hand for frequently replaced items 
• Identify continuous improvement opportunities and develop plans for review with team
• Lead/support design and/or implementation of production line equipment, tools, and processes
• Conducts periodic safety walk throughs 
• Collaborates and contributes to team effort and results
• Possesses analytical and critical thinking skills
• Organized, planful, action oriented, and adaptable with Plan, Do, Check, Act (PDCA) mindset

• Documents equipment references and standard work

Supervisory Responsibilities

Supervisory duties will be largely influential in nature with operator training responsibility and may also include direct employee responsibility, for example such as future personnel additions for maintenance or fabrication purposes.
