Green Dot recognizes that high-quality instruction is central to the academic success of students. We are seeking talented middle school on-call substitute teachers passionate about accelerating learning for our students. At Green Dot, our on call substitute teachers provide staffing coverage and ensure that student learning continues while staff members are out. On-call substitute teachers leverage school wide culture systems, classroom procedures, and teachers’ lesson plans to lead students to master daily learning.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Adhere to the lesson plan designed by the content area teacher.
• Implement student intervention plans designed for students with special education services or 504 plans.
• Adhere to the school's student and staff management policies and procedures (i.e., attendance records, dress code, etc.) and report to the school administrators when necessary.
• Maintain effective supervision and discipline in the classroom.
• Work with other teachers and administrators to address and resolve student issues.
• Abide by all state and federal mandates in reporting sexual or physical abuse and neglect.
• Provide necessary accommodations and modifications for growth and success of all students.
• Participate in faculty and professional meetings and teacher training workshops, when appropriate.
• Support our school operations with attendance tracking, enrollment, front desk support, lunch duty, hall monitoring, and other duties.
• Execute all other duties as assigned by campus administration.

Note: this role does not guarantee work. On call substitute teachers report to work when needed to cover classes.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s Degree or 60 hours of college level credits
• You are available to work Monday-Friday from 8am-4:30pm.
• You have a record of results leading students to dramatic academic progress.
• You have demonstrated a growth mindset and love of learning.
• You have strong content knowledge, pedagogical understanding, and the capacity to plan and deliver instruction to meet the needs of students.
• You have a strong ethical base and self-awareness.
• You are dependable, humble, have a sense of humor and a rock-solid commitment to Green Dot’s mission and the communities we serve
• You will need to pass a background check at time of offer

COMPENSATION

The hourly rate for this position is $17.00/per hour. This role is part-time and does not qualify for Green Dot Southeast Texas’ benefits plan.
