Green Dot Public Schools is a non-profit organization with a mission to help transform the landscape of public education so all students graduate prepared for college, leadership and life. Green Dot operates 5 public charter schools in Memphis, Tennessee. All of our schools are purposefully located in highest-need communities, are publicly funded and free to attend. We currently employ more than 200 dedicated, mission-driven employees to serve more than 2,300 students. Our academic model is designed to create high-performing learning environments that meet student needs. We take the time to learn each student’s needs, and work with parents, teachers and counselors to help all students succeed.

In June 2024, Green Dot Tennessee will bring many resources in-house, including data and systems. This change is a pivotal moment for Green Dot Tennessee to build new capabilities designed to empower and support our schools here in Memphis.

OPPORTUNITY

The Data Compliance Analyst will support the organization in the areas of data collection, analysis, reporting, and application support. The Data Compliance Analyst will work primarily with student demographic, academic, and accountability data, but will also be expected to learn and master new systems and applications quickly. The ideal candidate will be a motivated, analytical, detail-oriented individual with up to two years of experience and a passion for education.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Data Management & Analysis

> Proficiently manage and manipulate extensive datasets using Excel and BigQuery databases

> Develop dashboards and reports in Excel and Looker, and train users on how to interpret insights

> Conduct advanced queries to analyze data, generate reports, and audit data migration pipelines

> Provide exceptional service to stakeholders by fulfilling ad-hoc and recurring data requests, and presenting data stories that are well-visualized, accurate, and actionable

> Identify opportunities for process improvement and contribute to the implementation of new systems and procedures that enhance organizational efficiency

Compliance Reporting

> Lead local, state, and federal compliance reporting efforts while documenting best practices

> Refine processes for efficient, timely, and accurate compliance reporting and certifications including pre-and post-submission audits

> Participate in relevant authorizer, county, and state compliance meetings or webinars to stay updated on regulatory requirements

Information System Support

> Master and maintain various web-based applications, providing technical assistance to end-users as needed

> Deliver exceptional support by proactively investigating and resolving issues, engaging positively with stakeholders, and meticulously documenting all cases

> Support in the preparation and execution of state testing

> Support coding for student enrollment/re-enrollment in SchoolMint and PowerSchool

Normal business hours are 8:30am – 5:30pm, Monday-Friday (although these hours may vary and may require occasional evening and weekend work based on organizational needs). Minimal travel required, visits to local school sites (as needed).

QUALIFICATIONS

>Bachelor’s degree preferred with a demonstrated track record of academic success and/or two years of work experience in relevant field

>You possess strong analytical skills with the ability to turn complex data into actionable insights

>You are proficient and experienced with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint (experience with PowerSchool and/or EIS is a plus)

>You have experience building data visualizations

>You are highly organized, detail-oriented and able to produce error-free work

>You are hardworking, motivated and self-directed; able to think critically and anticipate the needs of stakeholders

>You have excellent communication skills, both written and oral, including communicating with senior management

>You are dedicated and inquisitive, able to learn quickly about the ‘big picture’ of education reform

> You are dependable, have a sense of humor and a rock-solid commitment to Green Dot’s mission and the communities we serve

> You will need to pass a TB test and background check at time of offer

COMPENSATION

The annual salary range for this position is $55,000 - $65,000, based on education and experience.
