Responsibilities:
- Assist veterinarians in providing medical care to animals
- Perform routine procedures such as vaccinations, blood draws, and dental cleanings
- Administer medications and treatments as directed by veterinarians
- Monitor and record vital signs of animals during procedures and treatments
- Prepare animals for surgery and assist during surgical procedures
- Take and develop x-rays/ dental x-rays
- Collect and analyze laboratory samples
- Maintain accurate medical records and entering all charges for all patients
- Educate pet owners on proper animal care and treatment plans
Qualifications:
- Must be a licensed RVT ( Registered Veterinary Techinician)
- Knowledge of veterinary terminology and procedures
- Experience working with a variety of animals, including dogs, cats, and exotics
- Proficiency in animal handling and restraint techniques
- Professionalism, punctuality, multi-tasking and ability to work as a team
- Ability to perform animal catheterization and administer medications
- Knowledge of aseptic technique for surgical procedures
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with pet owners and veterinary team members
