Position Duties & Responsibilities: 

• Planning, directing, and coordinating all accounting operational functions including inventory, procurement, accounts receivables and accounts payables
• Manages cash flow on a weekly and monthly basis to assure cash is available for ongoing operational needs
• Coordinating and preparing internal and external financial statements
• Coordinating activities of third-party accountants or external auditors, as appropriate
• Providing management with financial information vital to the decision-making process and to support the company as a going concern
• Assessing current accounting operations, offering recommendations for improvement, and implementing new processes for accounting team members
• Responsible for maintaining all records relating to company assets (e.g., vehicle titles, registration, etc.)
• Develop and maintain policies and procedures related to the accounting and finance operations of the company
• Maintain records of all insurance policies, serve as the liaison with insurance carriers and issue insurance certificates, as requested
• Ensure all business licensing is current and up to date, maintain records, and monitor and manage renewal processes
• Assist management in developing and monitoring business financial performance metrics
• Oversees and follows up on accounts receivable past due accounts
• Performs special projects, which may require creating reports, processes, schedules, and other financial information for staff and owners, as required
• Assist with payroll and file liens
• Other duties and responsibilities as assigned
• Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
• Excellent written and verbal communication, listening, and people skills needed
• Excellent organizational abilities. Ability to prioritize projects, manage a multitude of activities
• Simultaneously, problem solve, and pay thorough diligence is essential
• Understanding of quality principles, continuous learning, customer focus and service, teamwork
• Collaborative work ethic and partnering skills; professional, courteous, and always act with respect and integrity
• Demonstrated ability to embrace change. Ability to manage work under pressure
• Ability to gain an understanding, embrace, and use the Company’s internal databases, platforms and associated technologies

Education and Experience: 

• A bachelor’s degree is needed; in accounting/finance or equivalent work experience needed; CPA is preferred.
• At least 10 years of experience in accounting/finance is required and may be used in lieu of a degree.
• Experience working in the landscape or construction industry preferred.
• Must have previous experience with NetSuite or other comparable accounting software.
