Overview: We are seeking a skilled Grant Writer to join our team. As a Grant Writer, you will be responsible for researching, writing, and editing grant proposals to secure funding for our organization. This is a crucial role that requires strong technical writing skills, strategic planning abilities, and experience in fundraising. Duties: - Research and identify potential funding sources, including government agencies, foundations, and corporations - Collaborate with program managers and other staff members to gather information necessary for grant proposals - Write clear, concise, and compelling grant proposals that align with the organization's goals and objectives - Develop budgets and financial reports to accompany grant proposals - Ensure all grant applications are submitted on time and meet the requirements of the funding source - Maintain accurate records of all grants applied for and received - Monitor progress of funded projects and provide regular reports to funders - Collaborate with the development team to create fundraising strategies and initiatives Skills: - Strong technical writing skills with the ability to effectively communicate complex ideas - Strategic planning abilities to identify funding opportunities and develop successful grant proposals - Experience in fundraising techniques and strategies - Proficiency in Raiser's Edge or similar donor management software - Knowledge of grant writing best practices and familiarity with various funding sources - Excellent research skills to gather relevant information for grant proposals - Ability to write clear, concise, and persuasive proposals that meet funder requirements - Strong attention to detail for editing and proofreading grant applications - Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment This is a challenging yet rewarding position that offers the opportunity to make a significant impact on our organization's mission.
