Your Impact: The Summer Camp Unit Director is responsible for the activities and personnel in providing a positive camping experience for a group or site. Planning and implementing programs and activities appropriate for a specific group or site. Ensure safety and well-being of campers. What Qualifications You’ll Need: At least 18 years old. High school graduate or equivalent. Or enrolled in a minimum of 2 years of child development coursework approved by state licensing requirements. Experience working with children and at least two seasons working as a Y Camp Counselor or as a counselor in a comparable program.Enthusiasm, sense of humor, patience and experience working with children.Ability to lead and motivate a team. Ability to deal effectively with inappropriate behavior and recognize hazard situations. What You’ll Do: Monitor and train staff to ensure effective implementation of programs and activities. Ensure staff adherence to all policies and procedures. Coach and train staff in providing quality camping experience.
