Greater Philadelphia Health Action is Hiring a Mobile Therapist Near Philadelphia, PA

We are presently seeking full-time Mobile Therapists in our Behavioral Healthcare Division to support Intensive Behavioral Health Services (IBHS).

Must meet one of the following criteria:

  • Be licensed in this Commonwealth as a psychologist, professional counselor, marriage and family therapist or clinical social worker.
  • Be licensed in this Commonwealth as a social worker or a behavior specialist and have a graduate degree that required a clinical or mental health direct service practicum from a college or university accredited by an agency recognized by the United States Department of Education or the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or have an equivalent degree from a foreign college or university that has been evaluated by the Association of International Credential Evaluators, Inc. or the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services. The Department will accept a general equivalency report from the listed evaluator agencies to verify a foreign degree or its equivalency.
  • Have a minimum of 1-year of full-time experience in providing mental health direct services to children, youth or young adults and a graduate degree with at least nine credits specific to clinical practice in psychology, social work or counseling from a college or university accredited by an agency recognized by the United States Department of Education or the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or an equivalent degree from a foreign college or university that has been evaluated by the Association of International Credential Evaluators, Inc. or the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services. The Department will accept a general equivalency report from the listed evaluator agencies to verify a foreign degree or its equivalency.
  • Completed a clinical or mental health direct service practicum and have a graduate degree with a least nine credits specific to clinical practice in psychology, social work, education, counseling or a related field from a college or university accredited by an agency recognized by the United States Department of Education or the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or have an equivalent degree from a foreign college or university that has been evaluated by the Association of International Credential Evaluators, Inc. or the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services. The Department will accept a general equivalency report from the listed evaluator agencies to verify a foreign degree or its equivalency.
  • Be Nationally certified or licensed in this Commonwealth in the specific therapy if providing group services that include specialized therapies such as music, dance and movement, play or occupational therapies.

PLUS

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent comprehension skills. Must be organized and able to work independently with minimal supervision. Must have a willingness to learn and implement new processes. Must have excellent tracking skills and the ability to follow-up and follow-through. Must be compassionate and able to maintain self-control in a sometimes-demanding environment. Must be able to maintain confidentiality of client and employee information. Ability to operate telephones and perform basic computer skills such as on-line training, email, word and excel.
  • Valid Child Abuse (Act 33), Criminal History, FBI clearances and CPR (when applicable) free of any infractions that would prohibit working with children.
  • Verification that employee is not on any Medicaid/Medicare Exclusion list
  • Participation in and completion of all program mandatory in-services (must be completed within three (3) months of hire and annually from the date of the initial training).
  • Participation in and completion of at minimum (16) hours of approved Department of Human Services training yearly.
  • Participation in and completion of at least (10) hours of relevant Behavioral Health continuing education units per calendar year.
  • Participation in and completion of all GPHA mandatory in-services (must be completed annually and/or as assigned by the supervisor.

  • Annual Influenza Vaccination and Tuberculosis Screening as required

An Intensive Behavioral Health Services (IBHS) Mobile Therapist provides evidence based therapeutic intervention to children, youth and young adults, along with therapeutic education and guidance to the parent(s), guardian, and/or caregiver in their homes, school and community to promote emotional stabilization and wellness, behavioral change and good mental health.
