Greater New Bedford Community Health Center is Hiring an Adult Medicine Team Nurse (RN/LPN) Near New Bedford, MA

Sign-On Bonus Included !!!

Flexible 40 Hours - Monday - Friday(No Weekends in Adult Medicine Department).

Possible Shift Options pending on department needs:

8:00am - 4:30pm, 8:30am - 5pm, 9:00am - 5:30pm and or Four (4) x Ten(10) Hour Shifts (4 days).

Who we’re looking for:

1. An Empathetic Listener who gains ideas and feelings that identify needs. A Comprehensive Listener who observes covert signs to recognize social and psychosocial needs. A Critical Listener who will develop nursing assessments based on data.

2. Someone good under pressure who responds appropriately in emergencies.

3. A logical thinker who will evaluate data in making interpretations, differentiate nursing situations that require priority, recognize learning needs of patients, coordinate teaching plans, and provide individual/group education.

4. Someone resourceful who assists in initiating referrals and utilizing available resources within and outside the facility.

5. A problem solver who assists providers with developing short and long-term goals, and involves the patient and family in care plans.

6. Someone confident in clinical abilities to administer immunizations/treatments, perform diagnostic tests: EKG’s, Holter Monitors, hearing/vision tests and CLIA waived testing.

7. A patient champion who defends and preserves the rights of patients.

8. Someone organized who can order/stock immunizations; confirm expiration dates on a consistent basis, and dispose of expired stock.

9. A teacher at heart who can contribute to the orientation of new nurses and provide direction for medical assistants.

10. Someone tech savvy who will document in the electronic health record, prepare test results, and document in patient encounter forms.

11. Someone who can prioritize patient phone calls and determine the need for immediate medical care, assist with procedures, and process refills.

What you’ll need:

    • Registered Nurse and or Licensed Practical Nurse- Current MA License
    • CPR/AED certified
    • A plus to be bilingual in Spanish, Portuguese, Creole or Kekchi

  • Current MA RN license or completion of a formal education program in practical nursing.
  • Current state licensure/BLS Certified (with AED). Responsible for keeping certification current.
  • 1-3 years experience performed in a physician's office or community health setting.
  • Minimum one year MED/SURG experience desirable.
  • Bilingual Spanish and/or Portuguese skills preferred.
  • IV experience preferred.
