GENERAL SUMMARY:

Under general supervision, is responsible for content development for newsletters, social media, analytics and reporting of communications, strategic writing for GLI events and initiatives, and management of GLI social media channels.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND TASKS:

  1. Develop communications for GLI with an organized and detail-oriented approach to ensure accuracy and consistency of message.
  2. Create, manage, and execute content for GLI emails, website and social media for promotion of events, products, and partners. This will require attending GLI and community events.
  3. Draft strategic communications for GLI leadership and partners to guide messaging for events and external speaking engagements with various audiences.
  4. Draft content to coincide with GLI programs, events, initiatives, and investor news.
  5. Develop, implement, and lead processes for internal approvals on messaging coordination, and content creation.
  6. Write content for GreaterLouisville.com (a Wordpress site) and social media on multiple channels.
  7. Assist with deploying public relations strategies and managing media relations for the organization.
  8. Monitor and report on monthly analytics, create monthly reports on social media channel growth, email engagement, media mentions, website visits, etc.
  9. Collaborate with all GLI departments to communicate GLI's offering, mission and impact.
  10. Execute creative growth strategies to increase social media followers, email subscribers, and communications reach.
  11. Perform other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor's degree. At least three (3) years of proven experience in communications, marketing, or public relations. Highly skilled in strategic written and verbal communications. A combination of education, experience and training may be substituted when competency in the position is demonstrated.

Must be able to handle multiple tasks, deadlines, and priorities simultaneously while working across all internal departments. Ability to work within a small, high-energy team, and pivot when necessary.

Must maintain a valid driver's license.

The incumbent will be required to pass a background check in accordance with our hiring practices and must be able to maintain the confidentiality of any information s/he encounters.
