Description

The Playgroup Facilitator will plan, coordinate and facilitate daily activities, assisting children and parents in classroom learning, in groups and on an individual basis, as well as reviewing children’s experiences and planning the educational program with parents. The Playgroup Facilitator will involve and encourage parent and child engagement with art, music and movement, parent strategies and increased understanding of how children learn. This will be accomplished in person in the Tadpole Room by Zoom, or hybrid model.

Essential Functions/Key Responsibilities

• Arrange and maintain safe, clearly defined classroom environment which is developmentally appropriate and conducive to learning
• Work as part of the CFCE Team to ensure the provision of comprehensive services to children and families. Participate in CFCE Team Meetings
• Maintain ongoing observation and anecdotal records of children to use in curriculum planning.
• Administer the ASQ Assessment
• Implement school readiness goals and parent engagement, supporting and encouraging parent’s participation with children at Head Start with a continuum into elementary school up to third grade.
• Support school activities, collaborate with community partners and other duties as assigned.
• Outreach promoting CFCE programming within Lawrence, Methuen, Andover and North Andover to collaborate and partner with area Libraries and school districts.
• Other duties as assigned, based on program needs. 

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required 
• Experience in Early Childhood Development is preferred. 
• Must be able to comprehend/communicate in English both verbally and in writing, and have basic computer literacy skills.
• Bilingual English/Spanish desirable but not required.
• Ability to be flexible to meet program needs, be a team player, demonstrate patience, empathy and kindness. 
• Engage in ongoing staff development to improve professional skills.
• Show documented proof of current physical exam, negative TB test and proof of MMR immunity. (Hepatitis B immunity is advisable).
• Must have a suitable CORI, SORI & DCF background check and Fingerprint results on file prior to employment.
