ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Develops, implements and modifies association-wide aquatics, facility and risk management policies and best practices including, facilitating monthly safety topics, regular safety drills, monitoring staff safety certifications, reviewing all incident/accident reports and elevating priority incidents for further review/reporting.
Ensures compliance with state and local regulations as it relates to safety, industrial health, environmental protection, hazard control and loss prevention programs. Ensures that program standards are met and safety procedures are followed.
Develops, implements and manages aquatics operating plans to promote program and membership growth for the YMCA. Measures progress against strategic goals and ensures continuous improvement.
Ensures high quality water safety programs like SAW, are active and growing for the association. Ensures innovative program development with awareness of social, economic, and political issues and their impact on the strategic direction of the organization.
Administers association-wide in-service training and audit process for assigned programs.
Supports the development of assigned budgets and uses data to analyze financial trends and forecast financial progress for the association.
Manages all claims and investigations. Works towards closure of claims to minimize the Y’s
exposure and ensure quality results.
Serves as a member of the Facilities Committee and serves as the coach for the Safety and Risk Management Cabinet.
Plans and coordinates chart of work for the association-wide Safety & Risk Management Committee, in conjunction with the Safety & Risk Management Committee Chair. Ensures initiatives are implemented.
Responsible for assessing size and scope of projects and collecting bids for contracting larger
projects as needed.
Participates in risk assessments of facilities, programs, and staff. Communicates findings with senior leadership and recommends and implements plans for corrective action, as necessary.
Responsible for creating and maintaining preventative maintenance plan for each facility and reviewing annually.
Responsible for investigating property damage claims and losses and submitting detailed and accurate reports to the appropriate agencies.
Obtains and retains certificates of insurance as needed to protect Y’s assets.
Recommends changes and updates to the EPM/crisis response plans for the purpose of providing efficient utilization of YMCA financial resources and ensuring the safety of staff, members and guests.
Works with IT support as needed to ensure the safety and security of technology throughout the association.
Performs all other duties as assigned within the scope of the position.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Business Administration or other related field preferred. Risk Management certifications preferred.
5 years of professional experience in risk management preferred.
Certifications: CPR/FA, Child Abuse Prevention, Preventing Sexual Harassment, Active Shooter and Bloodborne Pathogen Trainings within 30 days of hire.
