JOB SUMMARY:
Verifies the accuracy and completeness of financial information entered into the General Ledger.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
The essential functions of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:
1. Maintains the Fixed Assets recording all additions, deletions and moves. Records the depreciation expense entries in the General Ledger as required.
2. Assist with month end closing and reports.
3. Completes and distributes required 1099 Forms in an accurate and timely manner.
4. Reconciles Operating, HCV, and other banking and investment accounts; prepares associated monthly reports.
5. Compile and submit all PH Operating subsidy submissions
6. Performs other tasks as directed by the Controller.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
None
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Typical office environment, with minimal exposure to excessive noise or adverse environmental issues.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
The incumbent must:
1. Have a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in Accounting or Business Management and three years related experience.
2. Have experience with and maintain knowledge of project-based accounting, federal grant accounting, Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) policies and procedures and other applicable local, state, and federal laws and regulations.
3. Have proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and financial accounting software.
4. Be able to communicate clearly and precisely, both orally and in writing.
5. Be able to meet the following physical requirements with or without reasonable accommodation:
a. Use hands to manipulate, handle, feel, and control items or equipment;
b. Talk and hear;
c. See and be able to read, write, and interpret text, spreadsheet, and graphical documents;
d. Occasionally lift and move objects weighing up to 15 pounds
