The Greater Cleveland Regional Transit Authority (GCRTA) has an opportunity for a Security Systems Specialist in the Operations Division.
Duties: Oversee preventive maintenance on the existing security systems that consist of CCTV (on buses, trains, and facilities), Access Control, and other security systems throughout the Authority, conduct Inspections, document failures and make repairs needed to maintain the Access Control Security System, make repairs to the Life Safety Systems throughout the Authority under NFPA (National Fire Protection Association) and ADA (American with Disabilities Act); serve as consultants on security and life safety systems. Initiates, controls, and monitors new construction, rehabilitation, and/or upgrade of contractor security systems; installs and services locks; installs, services, and monitors C.C.T.V. systems; works in conjunction with Safety, Electronic Repair, Technical Services, and Engineering/Construction (E&C) Departments to set security system specifications; practices safety precautions and measures at all times; performs other duties of similar nature as may be required.
Minimum Requirements: Applicants must have a high school diploma or GED. Applicants must have a total of two (2) years previous commercial/residential experience in basic electrical theory, principles of DC/AC circuits, digital systems (CCTV, Access Control/Security Systems), Telephone/data, C.C.T.V surveillance systems to include troubleshooting and repairing Life Safety and Security Systems. State Fire Alarm License Required. Access Control Systems certifications a plus. Able to install security systems in a timely manner.

Environmental Conditions: This person will work outside in all types of weather and in an office environment.
Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand or sit for up to 8 or more hours a day. Employees frequently travel along bus routes to supervise operators and interact with the public. The employee is frequently required to see, hear and speak. The employee may be required to work at a computer video display terminal for more than 5 hours a day.
Mental Demands: **Reading, watching, studying, observing, focused listening, active listening, auditing, inspecting, proofreading, evaluating, inspection. Ability to give, receive and analyze information, prepare written materials. Ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written); interpret policy, procedures and data.
Additional Details: Candidates selected to participate in the hiring process have to successfully pass an interview. Candidates must score a minimum of 60% or higher on the interview portion. Candidate must also pass a Drug Screening and extensive Background Check via the Transit Police Department.
