The Greater Cleveland Regional Transit Authority (GCRTA) located in Cleveland, Ohio, is searching for an innovative, collaborative, and self-driven candidate excited about assisting the Director of Safety with their Safety Management Systems (SM) goals and objectives.
Reporting to the Director of Safety, this unique mid-level position is responsible for GCRTA SMS data analysis to internal stakeholders and external oversight entities. This position is instrumental in coordinating and monitoring budget, information systems, and SMS adherence throughout the GCRTA with the guidance of the Director of Safety. This position provides exposure to all facets of transportation and vehicle management at each facility.
Detailed DescriptionCoordinate and report data related to the Public Transportation Agency Safety Plan and the Safety Management System of GCRTA. To maintain and report on Safety Department records of corrective actions, hazards, and employee injuries. To work in concert with the rest of the Safety Department to support and implement Safety Management System activities across districts through Safety Policy, Safety Promotion, Safety Risk Management, and Safety Promotion.
Maintain the Safety Departments SMART Tracking Log of corrective action plans, hazards, and property insurance recommendations. Update the log with new items, such as when a corrective action plan is assigned from a final incident report, or a hazard is identified via the hazard reporting system. Update existing open items in the log with status updates. Obtain status updates from stakeholders via monthly update requests. Prepare and send out monthly reports to the Ohio Department of Transportation on open corrective action plans and open hazards.
Maintain Ohio Bureau of Workers Compensation PERRP Log of employee injuries. Examine new employee injury reports on Riskmaster and determine if they are OSHA/PERRP recordable by examining if there was lost time or medical treatment beyond first aid. Record information for each recordable injury on a log.
Conduct at least one Internal Safety Audit of the agencys Public Transportation Safety Plan on behalf of State Safety Oversight once per year.
Participate in committees Executive Safety Committee, District Safety Committees, Accident Review Committee. Organize Executive Safety Committee presentations and PowerPoint slides.
