Classified Opening
Position: ESL Aide - Mason Early Childhood Center
Minimum Qualifications -
1. High School Diploma or GED
2. Must hold an active Educational Aide Permit issued by the Ohio Department of Education or be willing to obtain one.
3. Must be willing to submit to a criminal background check and must successfully meet the hiring requirements.
Performance Responsibilities -
1. Works under the supervision of the ESL teacher.
2. Supports the English Learners in the process of developing language, social and academic skills needed to be successful in U.S. schools
3. Performs clerical tasks associated with the various processes for English Learners
4. Implements planned instruction/interventions or modifications/accommodations for ESL students in the regular classroom or in small groups.
5. Assists in documentation of student(s) performance.
6. Demonstrates sensitivity to diversity in cultural heritages, lifestyles and value systems among students and families.
7. Maintains confidentiality and respect for students, teachers, and families.
