JOB POSTING: Part Time- Career Based Learning Coordinator at Deer Park Schools- Grant Funded TITLE: Career Based Learning Coordinator- Special Assignment QUALIFICATIONS:
Master's Degree in Administration or related field, preferred
Experience in workforce development, closely collaborating with higher education institutions, K-12 education systems and employers
Valid Administrative License or valid Supervisory License/Certificate preferred
REPORTS TO: Supervisor JOB GOAL: Play a pivotal role in preparing students for post-secondary success, aligning with our commitment to educational excellence and workforce development. This individual will be instrumental in fostering partnerships with appropriate stakeholders to enrich K-12 students' learning experiences and career opportunities. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Partnership Development: Establish relationships with vocational schools and organizations to provide tangible learning and career opportunities for students.
Strategic Planning: Assist in designing strategic plans for college and career readiness, including the implementation of career interest inventories to guide student pathways.
Program Alignment: Collaborate with school counselors to ensure a vertically aligned college and career exploration and planning program.
Administrative Collaboration: Attend administrative team meetings as requested by building principals to ensure program alignment with school objectives.
Work-Based Learning: Promote and assist in the development of work-based learning opportunities, fostering real-world experience for students.
Awareness Activities: Develop and coordinate activities aimed at increasing career awareness at the elementary level.
Event Organization: Organize, in cooperation with the administration, various workshops and events for students and parents on career exploration and planning (e.g., college field trips, financial planning nights, job and college fairs.
Professional Development: Stay informed on current developments, changes in state law, and educational policies to ensure compliance and innovation within the programs.
