Registered Nurse – Telemetry Acute Care
Salary: $75 an hour

Introduction
Telemetry nurses review and interpret the data collected by sophisticated medical equipment. They care for critically ill patients, monitor the condition of patients in telemetry units, and administer medication.
Job Responsibilities
- Examine the medical history and treatment plans of patients
- Keep track of heart rate, blood pressure, and pulse oximetry measurements
- Monitor, interpret and record data from specialized medical technologies and equipment
- Identify irregular telemetry readings and notify appropriate medical team members
- Explain tests results and procedures to patients and their families
- Administer medications to patients and monitor patients for reactions or side effects
- Prepare equipment and aid physician during examination and treatment of patient
- Perform other duties as assigned
Telemetry Nurse Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN)
- Current New York State RN license
- BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association
- TCAR for Surgery
- Two years of Telemetry or Medical Surgical experience
- Conscious Sedation Certification (preferred)
