Early Learning TOSA Salary Level: Per negotiated agreement Classification: Certified Reports to: Principal or Designated Administrator FLSA Status: Exempt Position Summary: The primary purpose of this position is to provide leadership for district preschool programs. The teacher on special assignment (TOSA) will provide peer coaching to increase educator’s instructional knowledge, promote reflective practices, and maximize student learning by ensuring high-quality instruction for all students in Early learning, support with curriculum development and professional learning, and building relationships among and between teaching staff. Minimum Qualifications:
3 year of verified experience teaching in a preschool setting
Knowledge of developmentally appropriate practices for young learners
Current Oregon Licensure through Teachers Standards and Practices Commission
Appropriate endorsement and/or authorization for district assignment
Criminal history verification/clearance
Essential Functions:
Provides leadership in program design, development, and implementation.
Coordinates professional and technical services for preschool programs
Coordinates/facilitates licensed and/or classified professional learning communities
Reviews and evaluates instructional and or operational programs, materials and research based practices.
Represents the program coordinator/director requested for selected functions and professional tasks within and outside the district.
Collaborates with the program coordinator in matters of program management and planning.
Collaborates with district staff across disciplines.
Creates and/or aligns tools and resources to support instruction.
Supports the implementation of grant requirements.
Follows specific standards, policies, and procedures of the District.
Facility quality, differentiated instruction that is inclusive of all students
Collaborate with teaching staff to engage in opportunities of ongoing reflections and feedback through coaching cycles involving observation, modeling of effective teaching practices, and/or co-teaching.
Work with on-site building administrator’s, school staff, and the early childhood coordinator to develop systems that support high-quality early childhood programs.
Provide support and strategies for open and effective communication among families, staff, and specialists.
Provide leadership that promotes equity and inclusion for all students regardless of background, culture, or race.
