Position Description:
The primary purpose of this position is to develop and implement a comprehensive counseling program to meet the needs of all students in Greater Albany Public Schools. A primary focus is to assist students in meeting and enhancing their social, emotional, and academic development. Counselors will provide direct guidance and counseling services helping students develop their abilities to learn, work and live in a partnership between home, school and the community. Ideal candidates will actively engage in the improvement of counseling practices through coaching, evaluation and staff development.
Additional Responsibilities:

• Adhere to the Code of Ethics sanctioned for school counselors by the The American School Counselors’ Association.
• Network with community organizations to build partnerships that serve student and family needs
• Home visits when appropriate

Minimum Requirements:

• Current Oregon Licensure through Teachers Standards and Practices Commission
• Appropriate endorsement and/or authorization for district assignment
• Criminal history verification/clearance
• COVID-19 Vaccination
