    Elementary Literacy Coach

    (Full-Time Contracted Position)Position Purpose: To provide coaching and other professional development support that enables teachers to think reflectively about improving student learning and implementing various instructional programs and practices.
    Duties and Responsibilities:
    • Provide collaborative and one-on-one instructional coaching and facilitate teacher inquiry.
    • Support teachers in the implementation of research-based instructional strategies, district instructional programs, and standards aligned curricula.
    • Work collaboratively with District administrators to develop, implement, and support all District literacy initiatives.
    • Model research-based instructional approaches and collaborate with teachers to determine approaches that best meet each student’s needs.
    • Lead data sessions that examine both formative and summative assessment results and monitor intervention strategies to ensure academic growth for all learners.
    • Provide feedback to teachers to improve alignment and delivery of the written, taught and assessed curriculum in order to promote student growth and close performance gaps.
    • Participate in building, district, regional and state-wide training opportunities for continued professional development. Meet with consultants and program experts for continued expertise in the field.
    • Prepare and deliver professional development sessions on local practices, state mandates and national trends for teachers and administrators.
    • Support the implementation of District instructional technology initiatives to increase student and teacher inquiry and support learning.
    • Perform all other duties as assigned by the Director of Teaching and Learning.

    Preferred PA Certification and Experience: PA Instructional Coaching Endorsement; teacher leadership or coaching experience in literacy
