CE-Power Unit Service Specialist 

Great Plains Mfg. - CE Division, is currently seeking a CE Power Unit Service Specialist to join our growing team. 

This position works Monday-Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. from our Service Department in Salina, KS. 

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Support KNA (Kubota North America) as a local Construction Machinery Power Unit Specialist understanding all systems of the machine
  • Support Manufacturing by troubleshooting problem units and manufacturing issues
  • Act as liaison between Kubota Service, Quality Control, Mfg Engineering and Design Engineering 
  • Focus on product quality and customer satisfaction
  • Willingness to work as a mechanic/technician to resolve field issues
  • Find solutions to minimize or eliminate manufacturing errors
  • Willingness to travel on short notice including overnight stays as necessary
  • Document open issues, actions, responsibilities and progress toward solution
  • Understand team concepts and be a strong team player
  • Organize and maintain a safe working environment
  • Follow all Great Plains and OSHA safety regulations and wear prescribed safety and protective equipment.
  • Other duties may be assigned that require other qualifications, physical demands, and/or work environment.

Preferred Skills and Qualifications: 

  • Thorough understanding of the Construction Machinery Power Unit assembly, its features and performance, and its customer base
  • Perform all levels of repair and preventative maintenance on Construction Machinery, diagnose and troubleshoot problems, make recommendations for machine serviceability and critical repairs and adjustments
  • Ability to read and comprehend hydraulic schematics and troubleshoot hydraulic related problems
  • Ability to read and comprehend electrical schematics and troubleshoot electrical issues
  • Remove and install parts, disassemble and assemble components, and test and adjust assemblies with minimal supervision
  • Detail-oriented person with excellent written and verbal communication skills 
  • Ability to read and interpret Engineering prints and an understanding of manufacturing
  • Must be able to read and comprehend specifications, service and parts literature, technical bulletins and other related publications
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with variables
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and Outlook
