Position Summary
The HME Technician I is responsible for assisting in the day to day operations of Great Plains Homecare Equipment with emphasis in delivery, setup, maintenance and management of all medical equipment. To provide instruction on operation of all medical equipment to both private and commercial accounts. To assist in customer service duties.
Minimum Qualifications
Education
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Credentials
State Required: None.
GPRMC Required/Preferred: Current Nebraska Drivers License with a good driving record required.
Commercial Drivers License (CDL) w/ HazMat Endorsement preferred but not required.
Manual dexterity and eye-hand coordination within normal limits.
Carry 75 pounds 100 feet occasionally.
Able to speak clearly and distinctly with staff and patient/clients constantly.
Able to drive delivery van safely.
Essential Functions
Effectively follows the customer service guidelines established by the organization. Demonstrates courtesy, diplomacy, and tact in interactions with internal and external customers.
Delivers and sets up equipment for both private and commercial accounts as designated, being certain the equipment is operating properly prior to leaving the warehouse.
Provides the patient/client with instruction as to the proper operation and care of all medical equipment. Will also answer any questions or concerns of patient/client or contact appropriate person who can.
Picks up any equipment that is no longer needed. Cleans properly and check for satisfactory operation before returning to rental stock.
Assists in maintaining records as required regarding the repair and maintenance of equipment.
Processes all delivery and pickup paper work as instructed on a daily basis.
Assists in the receiving and shipping of supplies and equipment to maintain efficient operation.
Demonstrates mechanical abilities which allow for the maintenance and repair of HME equipment.
Understands regulations and licensure applicable to own area(s) of responsibility.
